The Matteson Scholarship Fund welcomes you to our online Renewal Scholarship Program. Renewal Matteson Scholarships are offered through the Matteson Scholarship Fund and have been made possible by the generosity of the Matteson Family who help students, such as you, plan post-secondary education.
The directions below should answer most of your questions about the Matteson Scholarship Renewal Scholarship process, and submission. Be sure to read our FAQ's if you have any other questions.
Award Amounts
The Matteson Scholarship is a renewable scholarship for 4 years. Each Matteson Scholarship is up to $2,000.00 a year for the first two years and then up to $4,000.00 for years three and four (amounts could change). In order to receive a renewal, the student must maintain adequate progress towards completion of a degree and submit a Matteson Scholarship Renewal Application.
Requirements to Receive a 2025 Matteson Scholarship Renewal
1. A completed online Matteson Scholarship Renewal Application.
2. A post-secondary course work (unofficial transcript) including GPA. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required. Please make sure your course work documents are dated 12.31.2024. This document can be attached in the Matteson Scholarship Renewal Application.
3. An official Spring 2025/Fall 2025 Course Schedule from the college/university you are attending. This document can be attached in the Matteson Scholarship Renewal Application.
4. Personal statement addressing some of your college involvements, personal high points from the previous year of schooling and the benefits that the Matteson Scholarship provided.
5. A completed 2025 Matteson Scholarship Agreement. This agreement is emailed in the acceptance email after your Matteson Scholarship Renewal Application has been approved.
Deadlines/Notification
The deadline to complete the Matteson Scholarship Renewal Application is April 1, 2025. Each student who is awarded a Matteson Renewal Scholarship will be sent an email sometime during the week of April 11-15th, 2025 with instructions on how to accept the award.
That acceptance email will also contain a link to your 2025 Matteson Scholarship Agreement, which must also be completed before we send payment.
You have the option of submitting a photo that can be used when the community foundations announces the scholarship recipients. As a scholarship recipient, you will not be receiving a check. The scholarship award check will be issued to your college/university with a cover letter from the Keokuk Area Community Foundation. If you’ve submitted your scholarship acceptance materials on time and correctly, your check will be issued in July/August and sent directly to the college/university.
Students applying for Matteson Scholarship Renewal MUST BE A PREVIOUS Matteson Scholarship Recipient who is continuing their studies in agriculture, construction, health/medical sciences, nursing, engineering, information technology or trades.
