The Matteson Scholarship Fund welcomes you to our online Renewal Scholarship Program. Renewal Matteson Scholarships are offered through Matteson Scholarship Fund and have been made possible by the generosity of the Matteson Family who help students, such as you, plan post-secondary education. The directions below should answer most of your questions about the renewal application, process, and submission. Be sure to read our FAQ's if you have any other questions.
Award Amounts
The Matteson Scholarship is a renewable scholarship for 4 years. Each Matteson Scholarship is up to $2,000.00 a year for the first two years and then up to $4,000.00 for years three and four. In order to receive a renewal, the student must maintain adequate progress towards completion of a degree and submit a Matteson Scholarship Renewal Application.
Required Documents in the Matteson Renewal Application
1. Submit an official copy of your post-secondary course work including GPA. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required. Please make sure your course work documents are dated up until 12.31.2021.
2. An official Spring 2022 or Fall 2022 Course Schedule from the college/university you are attending.
3. A personal statement addressing some of your college involvements, personal high points from the previous year of schooling and the benefits that the Matteson Scholarship provided.
Deadlines/Notification
Deadline to complete The Matteson Scholarship Renewal Application is April 8, 2022. Each student who is awarded a scholarship will be sent an email between April 18, 2022 to April 30, 2022 with instructions on how to accept the award.
You have the option of submitting a photo that can be used when the community foundations announces the scholarship recipients. As a scholarship recipient, you will not be receiving a check. The scholarship award check will be issued to your college/university with a cover letter from the Keokuk Area Community Foundation. If you’ve submitted your scholarship acceptance materials on time and correctly, your check will be issued in July/August and sent directly to the college/university.
Students applying for Matteson Scholarship Renewal MUST BE A PREVIOUS Matteson Scholarship Recipient who is continuing their studies in agriculture, construction, health/medical sciences, nursing, engineering, information technology or trades.
